It has thousands of members, men but lots of young women too. Meetic is a partially free dating site, and its chatroom is a popular dating place. Meetic has a second website for more long-lasting relationships, called Meetic Affinity, which looks for a matching partner through personality tests. This dating site is called "Datingdirectaffinity" in the UK.
Meetic itself states that its dating service led to more than 5,000 real-life matches between people and dates between men and women in 2009. It is true that the 2 sites of Meetic, has been rapidly growing in the latest years.
Meetic services and tools
Meetic.com offers lots of free tools to find a matching partner. It's interface is familiar with that of Facebook: lots of pictures, simple design, functional and fast loading. You can search for profiles based on a wide arrange of parameters, such as age range, city, country, hobbies, favourite food, favourite movies, women who have or want children, religion, income and education. And of course the physical measures and features as well. The chatroom has lots of visitors.
Lots of free pictures on Meetic
You can look at pictures if you just register with your email-account before login. This gives you a good idea of what the person looks like. Almost 50% of the members have put a picture on their profile, which is more than on most dating sites. And something which some years ago was quite rare. But people are more comfortable with being on Meetic and Meetic Affinity, because so much others are, and the site has a positive feeling. The main rival of Meetic in 2010, is Facebook, not specifically a datingsite, but on which much people date as well.

When you logon to the Metic site, you can find logs of who you mailed with, who « flashed » on you, and who's pages you visited. The « flash » is similar to Facebook's « poke », it is like a « hi » who can easily be responded or denied to. If you want to break up a relationship contact with somebody, you can put him or her on a blacklist.
Price of monthly abonnement
You have to pay to communicate with partners by mail or text message. The monthly fee is a bit more than 30 euros, depending on which european country you live in. But it is money well spent if you want to boost your dating life.
